Perfect Pairing - Philippians 4:4-9, 12-13, 19-20

Our son had surgery this weekend.
I tried to be strong.
Keep my faith.
I lost it when they wheeled him back for the procedure.
This surgery will affect the rest of his life.
Will he be able to play ball again?
Will he have full range/use of his arm?
I know that in the big scheme of things there 
are worse things to deal with a child.
I'm trying to keep it in perspective.





Post-Op recovery was very hard.
He woke up in a lot of pain & it continued to get worse.
They had to administer major drugs.
At that point I think they considered slipping me some of it as well.




He has a great group of friends who came to visit.
This really helped his spirits.
Today we ventured out to watch his team play a game.
He really is doing well.
I can't tell you how thankful I am in this moment.
I know that we have some difficult roads 
to full recovery.
I know that we are not alone.

"Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!  Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things. Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me—put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you.

I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. I can do all this through him who gives me strength.

And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.
To our God and Father be glory for ever and ever. Amen."
